Manufacturer of Suction Strainer

Description
A suction strainer is fitted at the pump inlet, inside the reservoir, to stop coarse dirt and debris entering the pump before it ever reaches the working parts. Where fitted with an integrated foot valve, it also holds prime in the suction line after the pump stops, so the line doesn't run empty and require re-priming on the next start.
The mesh element is reusable, clean it with a suitable solvent and reinstall rather than replace. SP Engineers manufactures suction strainers at our ISO 9001:2015 certified works in Faridabad, India, sized to match our motorized lubrication unit range.

Role of a Suction Strainer in Lubrication Systems
The suction strainer is the first line of defence in any pump-based lubrication system. Mounted at the pump inlet inside the reservoir, it prevents coarse particles (metal chips, dirt, and scale) from entering the pump. Without a suction strainer, even a small piece of debris can score the pump gears or plunger, causing rapid wear and pump failure.
Unlike high-pressure in-line filters, the suction strainer operates at low pressure (suction side) with a coarse mesh, typically 60–150 microns, designed to pass lubricant freely while stopping particulate matter large enough to damage the pump.
Key Features
- Coarse mesh screen (60–150 micron): stops debris without restricting suction flow
- Reusable: clean with solvent and reinstall; no replacement element needed
- Available in multiple port sizes to match pump inlet connections
- Compatible with mineral oil and most lubrication fluids
- Should be inspected and cleaned during monthly maintenance
Applications
Suction strainers are used in all types of pump-fed lubrication systems: centralized oil lubrication units, oil circulation systems, motorized lubrication pumps, and hand-operated pump assemblies. SP Engineers supplies suction strainers as standalone components and as part of complete lubrication system assemblies from Faridabad, Haryana, India.
