Detail view of float switch

Description
Float switches are used for the point-based limit level detection of one or several levels. They work independently of foaming, conductivity, dielectric, pressure, vacuum, temperature, vapours, condensation, bubble formation, boiling effects and vibrations and are suitable for almost all liquid media.
The switching operation is contact-free, free from wear and needs no power supply. The simple and proven functional principle of the float switches enables a very wide range of applications, from general industrial applications through to use in process plants.
The compact float switch is simple, convenient and fast to integrate, because it does not need to be calibrated or set during the installation. This greatly improves the ease of handling, especially in confined installation situations. We are the leading manufacturers and suppliers of Float switch from Faridabad, India.

Float Switch in a Lubrication System
In centralized lubrication systems, the float switch is mounted inside the oil reservoir and monitors the lubricant level. When the oil drops below the minimum level set point, the float descends and the switch contact changes state — triggering a low-level alarm on the machine control panel or stopping the pump to prevent it running dry.
Running a lubrication pump with an empty or near-empty reservoir causes the pump to cavitate, wear rapidly, and fail — and leaves all lubrication points starved of oil. The float switch is a simple, reliable safeguard that prevents this. SP Engineers supplies both horizontal (FSH) and vertical (FSV) float switch configurations to suit different reservoir geometries. It is always used alongside a pressure switch in a complete motorized lubrication unit.

FSH vs FSV — Which to Choose?
| Model | Orientation | Best For | Contact Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| FSH | Horizontal | Reservoirs with side-entry mounting, wide shallow tanks | NC / NO |
| FSH+ | Horizontal | Same as FSH with dual contact output for alarm + shutdown | NO + NC |
| FSV | Vertical | Reservoirs with top-entry mounting, tall narrow tanks | NC / NO |
| FSV+ | Vertical | Same as FSV with dual contact output for alarm + shutdown | NO + NC |
