Description
A progressive distributor block splits a single incoming lubricant line into several precisely metered outlets, feeding each lubrication point in a fixed repeating order. Because the internal pistons can only move in sequence, every outlet is guaranteed to receive its measured dose on every cycle, there is no way for one point to be served twice while another is skipped.
That same mechanical interlock is what makes the design self-monitoring. A blockage anywhere downstream stalls the piston sequence and brings the whole block to a stop, so the fault announces itself instead of going unnoticed. Fit a cycle indicator pin or proximity switch and the stall becomes an alarm your operator sees within one cycle, long before a starved bearing turns into a seized machine and an unplanned shutdown.

How a Progressive Block Works, Oil and Grease Distributor Blocks
A progressive distributor block operates on a sequential metering principle. Lubricant enters the block under pressure from the pump and is dispensed to each outlet port in a fixed, repeating sequence, one port at a time. The pistons inside the block move progressively in a defined order, which is why the system is called "progressive."
This sequential operation provides an inherent failure-detection advantage: if any single outlet is blocked, the piston sequence stops completely. The entire block halts, making it immediately detectable with a simple cycle indicator or proximity sensor. This makes progressive distributor blocks one of the safest and most reliable metering devices for critical machinery.
