Construction

A motorised lubrication pump is an electric motor driven pump built together with a reservoir, oil filler, suction strainer, pressure relief valve and bleed valve, mounted as one self contained unit. The pump, motor, switches and filter are assembled on the reservoir, so the unit arrives ready to mount on the machine and connect to the distribution line.

• Reservoir capacities from 2.7 litres up to 30 litres, with transparent reservoirs available on selected models
• Motors of 0.09 kW, 0.18 kW and 0.37 kW, 4 pole, 3 phase, 415V AC, with single phase 230V AC options on some models
• Discharge ratings from 1 LPM to 3 LPM depending on model
• Pressure settings of 12, 15 and 20 kg/cm² according to model

Working

These units are run intermittently and are suitable for single shot automatic oil lubrication. During the motor ON period, normally about 5 seconds, all metering cartridges eject the required amount of oil at the various points of the machine. During the motor OFF period, decided by the lubrication frequency and normally a minimum of 1 minute, the metering cartridges recharge for the next lubrication cycle.

Because the oil is delivered in measured doses and is lost in normal running of the machine, these units do not require any return line connection.

Control and Monitoring

The lubrication cycle is triggered by an electronic timer or by the machine control, which sets how often the pump runs and for how long. A pressure switch confirms that the line reaches its set pressure on each cycle and raises an alarm if it does not, which points to a blocked line or a pump fault. A float switch monitors the oil level in the reservoir and warns before it runs dry.
